Die Baustelle ist Ort der Materialität und der Transformation. Sie bewegt sich zwischen dem was war, was ist und was sein wird. In unserem Alltag oftmals als Behinderung und Ärgernis wahrgenommen, birgt sie gleichzeitig ein utopisches Potential: die Idee der hoffnungsvollen Veränderung und der Erschaffung neuer Räume.
In der Circus- und Bau-Performance UNMEASUREMENT Straßenunterhaltungsdienst erforschen 5 Performerinnen mit der nötigen Prise Ironie und ihren Körpern als Maßstab die Übergangsräume zwischen Hoffnung und Alptraum, zwischen Archäologie und Tiefbau, idealisierenden Rendering-bauschildern und Bauschutt.
Das Bauen und Messen wird ausgestellt. Zu Sounds von Betonmischern und Schweißgeräten entrückt Plus Ou Moins Cirques Productions für kurze Zeit unseren Blick und schärft ihn für eine Ästhetik der Baustelle.

Road Maintenance Series (RMS) – Building site nr.01
“How does a drawing evolve into a construction? How are realities built from drawings? What kind of work and human interactions take place on building sites? What languages are spoken? Which measurement systems are used? What materials?
The site-specific performances of ROAD MAINTENANCE SERIES provide an artistic answer to these questions. Inspired by construction sites, its tools and work gestures, the performers develop their own choreographic, acoustic and visual measuring devices. Length, width, density, gravity are experienced, tested physically by circus artists, and explored acoustically by a musician. In turn measurement processes, their inaccuracies and their possible failures are investigated.
Working with our custom made devices allows us to generate new data live from the construction site: geographical points, GPS ranges, weather statistics, dust levels, soil resistance, etc. These collected inputs are then translated into sound, movements, lights and lasers marks. These spatial and acoustic markings act then as a reference for new performative actions.”
