Atelier terreclaire is the portfolio displaying the works from Claire Terrien + Friends & Collaborators since 2010 in the fields of art, public space, intervention in situ, set & light designs, constructions, objects, workshops, etc.

Claire Terrien, born 1981 in France.

Born 1981, she began training in circus techniques and site-specific theatre performance at the age of 15. After graduating in architecture (TU-Berlin, 2007), she focused on art interventions in public spaces while searching for different forms of interaction with the audience. She followed the postgraduated program for art in public space FAIAR in Marseille and subsequently created site specific art installations and performances.

Since 2005 she works as a freelance light and set designer for site specific, new circus and dance productions. She also holds workshops in the fields of object-theatre and multimedia art installations with a special focus on young girls education and empowerment.

In 2014, she started to develop and produce her own performances as Plus Ou Moins Cirque Productions. With the project Unmeasurement, an artistic research project exploring measuring processes, properties of materials and our risk abilities, she is currently touring a piece for young audience “Feldmessung / Surveying”.

She is co-founder of Villa Kuriosum, a project space for multidisciplinary art practices in Berlin and co-curates the arts and circus festival Circusbiennale. She has performed with Lingo Bingo, Zweite Liga for Kunst und Kultur, the Circus Charivari Collective, Rummel Rausch & Töchter, Pandora Circus, KieztoGo and for various site-specific productions.

She currently lives in Berlin and runs her own metall workshop, Atelier Terreclaire in Berlin-Lichtenberg.
